#HeadspaceStories 2 minutes 25 Seconds: Richard Bowker, Catapult
This month we've had Catapult join our Manchester site. I was lucky enough to get to know Richard and the team behind Catapult.
In our modern world we've seen a rise of Disruptive technology. When we need a taxi we look for an Uber, when we want restaurant food in the comfort of our home we go to Deliveroo, when it comes to travel we look for an AirBnB and when it comes to connecting employers and temporary staff we're starting to think about Catapult.
What is the vision of Catapult?
Catapult are looking to disrupt the world of temporary staffing and change the way people work, we look to achieve the heights of Uber and AirBnB. We truly believe in our product and see the potential in the market to not only grow nationally but also internationally.
What's the best thing about your job?
The best thing about my job is interacting with interesting and expressive people on a daily basis. Being new and revolutionary enables Catapult to have educational conversations which positively impact clients and candidates alike.
Who's influenced your career most and why?
I try and take as much advice as I can from everybody and anybody. I have a strong opinion on having the right mindset and thought process to then create my own decisions based on experience and knowledge, not taking anything for granted. To pick a specific person, I would have to say Johnny Wilkinson. His methods to be successful, mental thought process & drive to be successful through adversity is exceptional.
Who would you like to connect with at Headspace?
I'd like to connect with like minded people. Manchester is a business city where everyone knows someone. With recent events in mind, it is essential that we help each other to develop the city in a prosperous manner. Also I need drinking buddies.
Tell us something that might surprise us about you.
This is my company bio: Richard was well on his way to becoming an Olympic high diver when his career was cut horribly short by accidentally taking Viagra(tm) just before attempting a triple choc tuck with semi-back twist in front of over 10,000 onlookers. Speedo(tm) withdrew sponsorship after he made something of a splash.......I can neither confirm nor deny, but YouTube can.
Thanks so much for taking the time to chat with me Richard. It's been great to get to know more about you and Catapult.
